Information for customers with allergies

Allergen Advice

At Wonderland Bakehouse, all cakes and fillings are made fresh to order using high-quality ingredients.
Please read the allergen information below carefully before placing an order.

1. Important allergen notice

Although great care is taken during preparation, our kitchen is not an allergen-free environment.
We work with all 14 major allergens, including:

  • gluten
  • eggs
  • milk and dairy products
  • nuts (tree nuts)
  • peanuts
  • soy
  • sesame
  • sulphites

Because of this, we cannot guarantee the absence of traces of any allergen, even in flavours that do not list them as ingredients. Wonderland Bakehouse does not offer allergen-free, gluten-free or vegan cakes.

2. Responsibility to disclose allergies

Clients are responsible for informing Wonderland Bakehouse of any allergies or dietary requirements before confirming a booking.
Failure to do so may result in refusal of the order.

For weddings and events, it is the client’s responsibility to share allergen information with guests.

3. Severe allergies

Due to the risk of cross-contamination, we cannot accommodate severe, life-threatening or airborne allergies (including but not limited to peanuts, tree nuts and dairy).

If you or your guests have a high-risk allergy, we strongly recommend choosing a dedicated allergen-free specialist bakery.

4. Ingredient transparency

A full breakdown of allergens for all standard flavours is provided in the table below.
Additional information can be supplied upon request for:

  • customised flavours
  • dessert tables
  • macarons
  • individual desserts
  • tasting boxes

For wedding cakes, a personalised allergen sheet can be provided to the venue or coordinator on request.

5. Cross-contamination disclaimer

All products are prepared in an environment where allergens are present daily.
While strict hygiene practices are followed, cross-contamination cannot be completely eliminated.

As a result, every cake may contain traces of nuts, peanuts, gluten, dairy, eggs and soy. This includes equipment, tools, ovens, refrigeration units and work surfaces.

6. Client and venue responsibility

Once the cake leaves our kitchen or has been delivered to the venue, responsibility for communicating allergen information to guests lies with:

  • the client (private orders)
  • the event organiser or venue (weddings and corporate events)

Wonderland Bakehouse cannot accept liability for allergic reactions occurring after this information has been handed over.

7. Full ingredient information available on request

Wonderland Bakehouse can provide a full ingredient list for your chosen flavour upon request.
This includes all components of the sponge, creams, fillings, toppings and decorations.
If you require this information for guests, venues or coordinators, please contact us prior to the event date.

8. Allergen labels and documentation

All orders include allergen labelling as required by UK Food Safety guidance:

  • For boxed cakes and dessert items
    Allergen information is placed directly on the product box.
  • For wedding cakes and large celebration cakes
    Allergen information is included on the printed storage and cutting instruction sheet, which is handed to the venue or event staff during setup.

The client or venue is responsible for ensuring this information is communicated to guests.

Allergen information for individual desserts (such as cupcakes, macarons, trifle cups, cheesecake portions and other single-serve items) is provided directly on the product packaging or dessert box at the time of collection or delivery.
Please ensure this information is reviewed and communicated to all guests before serving.
